The Great Train Robbery by Buster Edwards
The Great Train Robbery is pretty much the film that really took off and started the whole editing scene and why it is so important in Movies, TV shows and YouTube videos. The idea was inspired by the Porter's previous work Life of an American Fireman. The film uses many techniques that may be simple in today society but back then seemed like something out of a fairy tale. The use of (composite editing) really change the way films where made. the film was actually one of the first to cross cutting, which is when two scenes are showed as if the happening after another when the really are not. e.g. the train robbers are in the room threatening the worker then they end up out side that is not the camera following them but the main video being cut so it seem like it is happening simultaneously. In The Great Train Robbery the editor also coloured certain bits in this is another part of editing that real changed the way we edit today. It is also apparently one of the first (Action & Western Film) ever to be made.
Life Of An American FireMen
The film the Life Of An American FireMan is thought to be the the most important to the film industry as well as editing is considered. this is mainly because the film has a style of editing that was not used before it. It and The Great Train Robbery are considered to be the first films to use cross-cutting. this was a effective because it allowed the audience to be able to see what was was going on in both sides with out having to move the camera or make a new film/another part for the film.
This Film is argued to be the first film ever maid. The film is very standard as there was know editing or special effects and the were know ways to cut videos so it was literally and constant scene of the workers leaving. The Lumiere brothers factory. but thanks to this surposed first film ever we now live in a world today were films a scripted and recorded every day.
